Weekly News - September 7th

This week has just flown by! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Next week we will be working on the following topics:
ELAWe will learn about complete sentences, comparing and contrasting, and using a glossary. We will focus on spelling words with short vowels o, u, and e. We are still reading The Twits by Roald Dahl. We should finish up by Monday or Tuesday and start The Magic Finger next week!

Math: The new topics we'll introduce this week are: writing numbers to 100, addition fact doubles to 18, identifying attributes of pattern blocks, ordinal position, and repeating patterns.

Social Studies: We will continue our unit on citizenship and communities. This week we will review urban, suburban, and rural communities, compare long ago vs. today, talk about what a citizen looks like in the community/classroom, and introduce how to interview someone.

Did You Know? Germany is our sister country in 2nd grade. Our first project will be dealing with Germany...look for more information to come home!

  1. Ms. Frankart would it be possible to get monthly or quarterly calendar with the schedule for A/B days? It is very difficult keep up with the changes and have children dressed appropriately for the week.
