Happy 1st Friday in May!
Next week we will be working on the following topics:
Math: Next
week we will continue with Saxon focusing on subtracting two-digit numbers with regrouping,
subtracting 6 facts, solving a problem by guessing and checking, and covering
the same design in different ways using tangram pieces.
Social Studies:
We will begin our unit on biomes. Students
will be learning about different biomes including: fresh water, wetlands,
grasslands, mountains, prairies, forests, rainforests, deserts, caves, the
arctic, and oceans.
Homework: As a second grade team we have decided to open up the rest of Study Island and have the students work at their own pace. We would like all assignments due by June 3rd. To make the homework load a little more bearable, there will no longer be spelling or handwriting for the year. Students will only have Study Island and 60 minutes of reading each week.
