Open House

Thank you to those who came to Open House! It was so great to see the old faces and meet the new ones! I hope you'll find this website very helpful throughout the year.

Just some reminders that you may or may not have heard once (or fives times) tonight:

Fees:
We have the $30 supply fee and the $30 science fee for the year. You can pay them together on one check or pay separately. Checks should be made out to C.I.S. and the memo line should say "2nd grade supply fee" or "2nd grade science fee". I kindly ask that you have those fees paid by next Friday, August 31st. If you are not able to pay at this time, please email me and we can figure something out.

Schedule:
I know you may be a bit overwhelmed with the rotating A/B schedule, but we'll get through this...It will be quite a change for me as well, so know that we are in this together! Each Friday when I update my blog for news and upcoming events I will put the following week's P.E. schedule at the bottom.

Nut Free Room:
We are a completely nut free room. This includes peanuts and tree nuts. If your child is really hooked on peanut butter, I urge you to try soy butter and /or sunflower seed butter...sometimes the kids don't even notice the substitute if you don't tell them! I know this may seem like an inconvenience for you, but please consider the families that deal with this on a daily basis and have to worry about everything their children come in contact with. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!

Forms Due:
You should have gotten 3 forms tonight at Open House. If you did not fill them out at school and turn them in already, if you could send them to school with your child by Friday, August 31st, that would be wonderful! Please know that in addition to the 3 forms and student/parent handbook page that needs to be signed and turned in, there is a science safety form on my website located under the "Doc Spot" tab. Please have your child sign for each science unit and then you can sign the bottom. Thank you for your cooperation!

Like I told most of you, I will have to miss the first day of school due to the fact that I have to go to Ohio for a funeral. I will be leaving tomorrow (Friday) afternoon to travel, but will be checking my email periodically. I hate the fact that I have to miss the very first day of school, but I am confident that my subs will do a FANTASTIC job! Here's to the start of a great school year!! :)
